It's time for another personnel file! And what better example of a strong Starfleet career than that of William T Riker, first officer of two Enterprises and eventual captain of the Titan! Also I think he has had the most cameos alongside his wife, Troi. Music from bensound.com, purple-planet.com and freesfx.co.uk Star Trek Online developed by Cryptic Studios and Perfect World. Star Trek: Insurrection movie clips: 🤍 BUY THE MOVIE: 🤍 Don't miss the HOTTEST NEW TRAILERS: 🤍 CLIP DESCRIPTION: Commander Riker (Jonathan Frakes) tries to woo Counselor Troi (Mariana Sirtis). FILM DESCRIPTION: Star Trek: Insurrection manages to recall the original 1960s series' spirit of liberalism, while transcending it for sheer boldness, embracing issues that are on the political cutting edge in the 1990s and beyond. The fact that the first 30 minutes are presented as a mystery only makes the material more engrossing. While assisting a survey team of Federation allies observing the populace of a distant planet, Lt. Commander Data (Brent Spiner) seemingly goes berserk and attacks the survey team, exposing their existence to the populace and jeopardizing the mission. Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) brings the Enterprise into orbit to try and apprehend Data and find out what happened . He discovers that the mission isn't one of observation, but the involuntary relocation of a small, peaceful population, undertaken by the Federation and its rogue planet allies the Son'a, supposedly to secure the planet's youth-restoring qualities. As it turns out, there's a much darker side to the plans of the Son'a, and a personal side to the carnage planned by the Son'a leader Ru'afo (F. Murray Abraham). Picard and his officers, suitably outraged by this violation of the Prime Directive that no Federation mission may interfere with the natural evolution of an alien culture take matters into their own hands in an attempt to expose the plot to public scrutiny, risking their lives in the process. This is a tribute to the characters of Deanna Troi and William 'Will' Riker played by Marina Sirtis and Jonathan Frakes respectively. I shipped this couple so much throughout TNG's TV run and was glad that they got together in the end :) Includes footage from Seasons 1-7 and the movies as well. Song - Love Me Like You by Little Mix (Tempo slightly sped up) Trekkie Love Forever x Enjoy! I don't own the clips or the song :)

Star Trek is an expansive franchise crammed full of stories and lore. Today, we'll be looking at that lore; more specifically the fact that some of it exists purely because of a glorious beard. Riker has a nasty habit of sitting on consoles and putting his foot on essential ship equipment. Damn him! The Naked Now, Cause and Effect, and Yesterday's Enterprise.

Cmdr Riker boards the Klingon vessel Pagh as temporary first officer. After his authority is challenged by his new second officer, Riker must assert his dominance over the crew, here he proves himself to be no pushover and a true Klingon at heart. In the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Second Chances," Commander William T. Riker discovers that he has a transporter duplicate who has been living on his own for the past eight years. One person was beamed up, and two people were materialized from that one pattern: Will Riker and Thomas Riker. Later in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode, "Defiant," a more concise explanation is given of the Thomas Riker problem; however a bored Gul Dukat asks the question that is on everyone's mind: "Why am I listening to this?" You are listening to this because this raises some interesting questions about personal identity. We cannot say both are the "real" Riker, because the transitive property of identity tells us that if Thomas Riker is the real Riker, and William Riker is the real Riker, then Thomas Riker is William Riker, which is not the case. But does this square with Geordi's intuition that both are the real one? Do you share this intuition? Is there a way for transporter duplicates to be the same person as the original, without running afoul the law of identity? Or does personal identity not matter at all? Download the audio track here for FREE: 🤍 Watch in 480p for higher audio quality. This track is NOT audio over-driven so boost the sound, bass, and treble before you vote/comment! This is version 2 of another shorty of mine composed some years ago; following my inspirations from Day Job Orchestra (DJO) & Nick Bertke (Pogo), I finally synced this with video. Composed mostly with sounds from Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 3, Episode 26 (The Best of Both Worlds, Part 1). PS, I know, this video could do with some serious de-interlacing. Good old analogue television doesn't coincide with digital playback. This remix is almost entirerly WARP beat synced. My Favorite Star Trek Vignettes The Next Generation, Episode 6x09 "The Quality of Life", Stardate: 46307.2 [Riker's quarters] (the poker game is in full swing, and Beverly is dealing) WORF: Commander, is it your intention to continue to grow your beard? LAFORGE: Actually, I'm not sure yet. Why, Worf? WORF: I am just asking. CRUSHER: Seven card stud, one-eyed jacks are wild. RIKER: Frankly, Geordi, I like the beard. LAFORGE: Thank you, Commander. CRUSHER: You know, I have always been a little suspicious of men with beards. WORF: Why is that? CRUSHER: I don't know. It's as if they're trying to hide something. RIKER: Hide? Don't be ridiculous, Doctor. The beard is an ancient and proud tradition. LAFORGE: Some of the most distinguished men in history have worn beards, Doctor. CRUSHER: I know. But after the razor was invented I think beards became mostly a fashion statement. WORF: I'm not concerned with fashion. To a Klingon, a beard is a symbol of courage. RIKER: I think it's a sign of strength. CRUSHER: Sure, and of course, women can't grow beards. LAFORGE: Doctor, it sounds to me like you feel beards are nothing more than an affectation. CRUSHER: I do. But there's nothing wrong with that. I mean, women wear makeup and nail polish. I just think it's time you men admitted it. RIKER: My beard is not an affectation. CRUSHER: Oh? Well then you wouldn't mind shaving it off. RIKER: I could lose it in a minute. I've just gotten used to it. CRUSHER: Okay, then why don't we up the stakes a little? And if I win, all off you shave your beards off. LAFORGE: Wait a minute, wait a minute. What if you lose? What are you going to give up? CRUSHER: I'm open for suggestions. RIKER: Well, I've always wanted to see you as a brunette. CRUSHER: Oh, I did that once when I was thirteen. I couldn't change back fast enough. RIKER: That makes me even more curious. CRUSHER: Fine. If one of you wins, I become a brunette. Are we on? LAFORGE: Yeah, yeah, we'll take that bet. CRUSHER: Looks like you have the hand to beat, Commander. LAFORGE: Two hundred. CRUSHER: I'm in two hundred. RIKER: Geordi. PICARD [OC]: This is the Captain. We have arrived at the Tyran system. All senior staff to the Bridge. CRUSHER: Wait! RIKER: Sorry, you heard the Captain.
