Indexes in SQL are used to speed up SQL queries. A database index works much like an index in a book. For example, if you have a database table with a list of people, a common query would be to lookup someone by name. Creating an index means the database will not have to scan the entire table looking for matches. Instead, it will restrict its search to a small portion of the rows. In this video we use a table with 100 million rows to illustrate how much an index can change the speed of a query. This is the SQL Subquery Tutorial video which gives you a complete understanding of subqueries in SQL. We start with explaining what a subquery is and then writing a sample SQL query containing a subquery and then explaining how SQL processes a query statement containing a subquery. In this video we shall also look at the different types of subquery in SQL by writing SQL queries which uses these different types of subqueries. We shall look at single row subquery, multiple row sub query, single column subquery, multiple column subquery and also the correlated subqueries. This video will also explain about the different Clauses in SQL query where it is allowed to have a subquery and we shall look at example queries to explain these differences. Finally, we will look at the SQL commands like INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE where it is allowed to use subqueries. Hopefully, this videos gives you a complete understanding of what subqueries are, how to use them and where to use them. NoSQL databases power some of the biggest sites. They're fast and super scalable but how do they work? Behind-the-scenes, they use a keyspace to distribute your data across multiple servers or partitions. This allows them to scale horizontally across many thousand servers. NoSQL databases can operate in multiple modes: as key-value store, document store or wide column store. You can run your own NoSQL database with software like Cassandra, CouchDB, MongoDB or Scylla. You can also use a cloud version like AWS DynamoDB, Google Cloud BigTable or Azure CosmosDB. 💌 Sign up for Simply Explained Newsletter: 🤍 Monthly newsletter with cool stuff I found on the internet (related to science, technology, biology, and other nerdy things)! SQL, short for Structured Query Language, is a language used by software developers, data scientists and anyone who works with data. With SQL, you can store data in relational databases and write queries to extract valuable information. There are various database management systems (DBMS) that support SQL but each product has its own implementation of SQL. In this course, we'll be using MySQL to learn SQL. MySQL is the most popular free and open-source database management system in the world. If you use a different DBMS (eg SQL Server), you can still benefit from this course as 90% of the skills you'll learn in this course can be transferred to other database management systems.

In this video, I will go through my pick for the top 25 SQL interview questions and then provide some additional information on what the interviewer is expecting from you when he asks these questions. The answers to each of these 25 SQL questions are present in my blog. I have written a blog in my website techTFQ where I have mentioned these 25 questions along with the answers to these 25 questions. In this video, I will go through the questions but will not explain all the answers in detail. You can find all the answers in my blog. Hence in this video, I wanted to share from my experience what were the top SQL questions for clearing Interview. I have come up with these questions after taking several SQL interviews myself and also by giving several SQL interviews over the past 12 years of the work experience. These questions are just in my opinion the most important SQL questions or SQL concepts that you need to prepare before an SQL interview.
